World Bible School—Edna Ruth Fields
Perhaps one of the most effective ministries our church supports is the work of one woman,
Edna Ruth Fields, who has poured her life for the past 30+ years into reaching people in
Africa though World Bible School.
World Bible School offers a series of Bible lessons
by correspondence to people in other countries. Edna Ruth's students live in Nigeria,
Ghana, Malawi, and Equatorial Guinea.
Each student studies through a series of 4 books. The first book lays groundwork for
the fundamentals of Christian faith. The second centers around the church. A third book
presents pertinent information in more detail and the final book offers a comprehensive review.
Since 1975, Edna Ruth has taught thousands of students (she stopped counting at 500).
More than 30 congregations have been started as a result of her work.
The Vancouver Church of Christ started supporting this ministry in 1989. Edna Ruth
still does all the work, but we provide the funds to purchase books, tracts, and pay
for shipping. If you would like to help with correcting lessons, addressing or
shipping them, get in touch with Edna Ruth. Or let her know that you are praying for
her in her diligence.
